I Hope Mick McCarthy is aware of our stroke of (brief) genius when we played RNL in a game last season (to ensure compensation).
Mick - get your kids in the side now! You don't want anyone else poaching your youth team for peanuts. Get em all in Mick - you know it makes sense! And all your fringe players too - you need to sort the wheat from the chaff, you need to know who to sell. Your first team deserves a break too. So don't be a fool Mick, play your kids and reserves NOW! ...and I'll buy you a pint, cheers! it's waiting for you.

I'll buy him a pint too tbh i bet Wolves's fringe players are better than our first team so not much of a consolation
i was looking at there team before i went to bed to see if theirs any players in there squad who need to play one or two game to get a medal but i got board and went to bed
RE: Daft as this may sound, I'd rather play their first team. They'll have been out partying all week and will have one eye on the beach, whereas youth/ fringe players will be hungry and have something to prove. It could easily work against us if Wolves field a "weakened" team.
RE: Daft as this may sound, but on saying that , some of the first team may be trying to prove they are worthy of the premier league.Listening to Talk Sport on the way back from Reading "Call Collimore". A number of Wolves fans on , nearly all said they would need 5 or 6 new players in the premier league. So perhaps some of the present squad will be fighting for a premier place.
Anyone who thinks McCarthy and Wolves "won't be up for it" are deluded. Not a cat in hell's chance of a favour from Macca and Wolves. If we beat them it will be down to the will and skill of our team on the day...and nothing else!
