Wolves have become the latest Championship club linked with Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher, according to the Daily Star.

The 20-year-old is currently considering a new deal from the Red Devils having enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Barnsley last season.

Fletcher scored nine times as the Tykes secured promotion via the League One play-offs and the Yorkshire side are keen on bring him back to Oakwell.

However, they face competition from Leeds United and Wolves, although any move might well be a loan after Fletcher told the Manchester United website this week his dream is still to make the grade at Old Trafford.

He said: "Hopefully, when I go back I’ll get my chance in the future. That’s the ultimate goal – playing for Manchester United."

Get signed up at Old Trafford then get yourself back to Oakwell on a season long loan Ashley.

Like Fletcher. But actually think we'll be better off with Bradshaw and Watkins / Winnall up front. Fletcher is still a young lad learning to rough it. Would LOVE us to sign him permenantly as in a couple of years he will be immense. So much potential. But he could take a season to get fully up to championship level by which time we'll be handing him back

Fletcher did really well for us in the play-offs, but if Watkins hadn't got injured he would still have been an impact sub rather than a starter. Would be happy if he came back, wouldn't lose any sleep if he goes elsewhere.

But what an impact sub he was?

He's so hard to play against, developing all the time, and causes problems for the opposition as they can't plan for his touch and agility versus his heigh. Whilst I don't think if he signs for us he'll start 30+ games he'll definitely make us a far better squad and win us a lot of points.

Totally agree. He won't get a sniff of United first team. As much as I like him and like to big up reds players he doesn't have the same impact Rashford does. That lad is a beast! Fletcher may well be better signing a 3 year deal with us.

I agree with what you're saying, but I'd be hoping for us to sign 'starters' rather than 'impact subs'. As I stated before, I'd be happy for him to return, even happier for him to come permanently, but if he doesn't we'll get by.

Between the 2, id prefer Fletcher if we bought him than Bradshaw but id sooner have Bradshaw if we bought him than loaning Fletcher for a full season...if that makes sense. I think Fletcher would be more valuable in 2 years time than Bradshaw. Having said that, Bradshaw is the type of striker ive seen at t'well over the years that ive thought ' i wish we could buy sumday like him'.
Just cant see Tom coming here, especially if Rangers are sniffin round

Not sure about that. Pretty sure most players consider the Championship a step up from the SPL, even Rangers. Especially with them not being able to offer European football right now, and presumably their wages not being in the same league as they once were.

playin in front of 40,000 every fortnight and 4 old firm games is still a big draw. And Rangers are a much much bigger club than us. But i also appreciate the standard isnt as good as the championship in the main. Be very surprised if we get him tho
