Along with Baxter and Livermore, apparently Aaron McCarey of Wolves has also failed a drugs test.

I read a while back that a lot of the time players would fail drug tests for recreational drugs but rather than the FA announce it they would inform the club & it's then up to the club & in most cases the club would get the player counselling if needed whilst covering there backs with a long term injury cover story whilst they serve a 6 month ban & no one in the public would ever know.

Seen as there's now been 3 positive tests in a few days it looks like there's a change of strategy

    This will be rife.
The arrogance of footballers and their representatives will tell you this is a recreational drug and not performance enhancing and therefore alright to do at their discretion!

I'm not sure pay comes into it at all. It's not expensive, plenty of people on benefits take it, along with millions of people on normal wages.

In some professions the penalty for failing a drugs test is dismissal. When I was in the army there were a couple of lads kicked out for failing. One bloke, who was a colour sergeant, failed and was busted to the rank of private and then kicked out. He lost everything he'd worked for in his career.

A failed drug test could be something as simple as using the wrong cold remedy...The skier who used a vicks inhaler in USA without realising it was different to the UK one springs to mind...Its not about Money or arrogance...as for Livermore...just fookin stupid.
