Wombwell main chippy new owners?

    Anyone been to the Chippy at Wombwell Main recently. I see from their Facebook it’s under new managers since last month.

    Is it worth a visit. Tunstall cross is closed this weekend so it’s either the Main or Summer Lane and although Sumner lane one is OK it’s not one I am particularly keen on.

    Main used to be good but last time I tried it in the summer it was closed.

    I live across the road from Tunstall but still prefer Summer Lane. Sure Wombwell Main one had its lights on last week when I went past

    When I saw this thread title I honestly thought that Wombwell Main chippy had bought out the clowns at Oakwell and taken over. Was really excited for a minute...

    Sorry didn’t mean to build up false hopes. One positive today was I tried them out. Very good fish and chips. Fish cooked to order so a bit of a wait but at least it’s freshly cooked. But more expensive than Tunstall But the fish portions were much larger so in reality similar pricing, 2 fish would have done 3 of us. Will definitely go back
