Hey don't tarnish us all with that slur, it was just my mate Simon who went down that route.

Just about old enough to remember the Birdcage, but it was on its last legs, I most frequented it when it was the Blue Spot - before it got mysteriously burnt to the ground.

Was there in its heyday - getting run down to Elsecar by the Kirk Balkers. Smart.

As a Birdweller I was naturally afraid of Sic'ers, mainly on account of the many and varied diseases they carried. For fun we spent our evenings burning down Worsbrough Village.

Worsborough just all wants bulldozing and starting again.

Starting again? It would make a much better country park.

It'd need decontaminating first. Dump all the toxic waste on Wombwell. Nobody would notice. It stinks bad enough already.</p>

That'll be Wombwell Woods, the only chance Wombwell has of replenishing its clean air and they go and turn it into a tip. They deserve rickets.

It's where they bury their pets and kids the weirdos.
