We like to give our customers the best service we possibly can. That’s why we’re upgrading your broadband speed from up to 4Mb to up to 10Mb - free. No catch. No strings attached.

Brilliant.....so instead of not connecting anywhere near 4Mb, it'll not be connecting anywhere near 10Mb instead!

    Tell them to sod off

Since Talktalk decided to 'upgrade' my speed, I've had to put up with loads of connection drops and go-slows in the evenings!

I am on Virgin 20mb and it's fine mate - Only restriction is between 4pm and midnight . If you download more than 4gb of stuff then they limit you bandwidth down to about 1mb. But other than that its fine. Been on most suppliers over past few years and Virgin has been the best - Stick to a cable connection it's not as busy and weak as a bt supplied line.

I've been on 20mb since they upgraded me free from 10mb last year.

I wish it was 20mb - More like 6-8mb with download speeds often 400kb/sec. Should be 2100+kb/sec. Ain't traffic shaping. Phoned em up loads of times over past 6 month and in short, they don't give a ****. Bring back Telewest I say. Used to have a 10mb full fat, 24/7 connection until Vigin's 20mb (laugh) upgrade.

Good job I'm on a good discount rate.

Looking forward to the 10Mb activation. I was on 20Mb a while ago, but to save some cash, dropped down to 4Mb. He did convince me by saying that the 10Mb would take over the 4Mb soon though. Sure enough, it's expected by summer. Don't like being throttled though during the evening - does that happen on a BT line too?
