    cline

A gradual change in a character or feature across the distributional range of a species or population, usually correlated with an environmental or geographic transition.

I've got a dictionary app on my phone which has just recently decided to start sending me a word of the day after a year + of not bothering. So I'm gonna share it each day. It'll either educate or annoy, I'm not fussed which.
