So it looks increasingly like the speculation that Hayes wasn't in the squad last night because he was on the Essex coast at the time is not far off the mark - unless anyone knows otherwise.
They don't call you that for nothing. One assumes that he can be at the club agreeing personal terms whilst the first team is in Birmingham, or is that too far-fetched?

But considering they have until midnight tonight to sort it probably a totally futile practice to try and thrash it out while there was a game going on. I dont think hes going.
