Defensively we've not improved that much

certain players have taken us as far as they can, think its time we replaced them. Think McNulty is capable of further improvement, but Ive been saying for a while Foster isnt, and its no coincidence we're conceding so many soft goals still.

Not helped with midfield having to be revamped every 10 minutes.

Defend as a team attack as a team.

Needs a settled central defensive pairing, individuals ability notwithstanding.

'Work in progress' is an odd phrase to use as its usually associated with not doing anything ,as in ,
The Wife ' When you going to decorate the kids bedrooms, that Action Man wallpaper is a bit inappropriate for a 24 yr old'
Me ' Its a work in progress luv '

    Playing 4-5-1

should really mean we concede less goals, but we're still prone to the same defensive lapses, lack of concentration, which points towards personnel being the issue. Cant fault Steele this season tbf, but Hassell has been found out, and Foster with the ball at his feet, looking long, stands out a mile to me. If we're not bringing anyone in on loan, ffs try Edwards and McNulty til the end of the season, see if they can improve us any.

    Re: Playing 4-5-1

As much as it pains me to say it I think this season has been the beginning of the end for Hassell and Foster as 1st XI regulars. Still think Edwards will be a good solid centre half alongside someone more mobile. McNulty at times has shown superb quality but if he carries on wandering out of defence with the ball at his feet trying to be Beckenbauer I'll shoot him.

Obvious what's happening at left back.

Think we've badly missed O'Brien's work down the flanks - and in context the loss of Butterfield, Vaz Te and Drinkwater would knock any team sideways. So it's start again in the middle of the park.

Need to get 4 more wins and then relax.

His signings have been mostly effective

and I like the way he brings players in completely off anyones radar, so Im hopeful he has spotted what we need at the back. Quoted in the Star today: "the problem is individual errors which are costing us goals." Thats been the problem for about 4 seasons, so time to man up.

Re: Work In Progress.....I still don't understand this term

.........is Keef saying that Barnsley is 'a work in progress' but other teams in the league are not.

Surely all football teams are a work in progress.

    Goes without saying

I think Johnny Tyke wouldve got us promoted if he'd had the money Robins blew.

Im waiting for Hill to take us to Wembley.

On current evidence I think cup comps are pretty low on Croftflickdavehillkeith's radar.

Not really - it's more a public education programme

    Which seems to be failing.

No he is saying, I know we have problems and I know what I want to do but I cannot do it until summer because that is when I will be able to wheel and deal.

Clubs only become the finished article when they go bust and cease to be.
