I can see the BBS are too excited to already have a thread about it Going to Serbia as an Englishman will make Millwall for West Ham fans seems like a picnic.
It’s the benefit of winning your previous groups and reaching the final of major tournaments I suppose.
First world problems - trying to buy an Andorra home shirt online is a bit of a buggar Seriously, the only bumm€r about England's group is the size and the unneccessary trip to the aforementioned principality. Thankfully, Scotland have a four nation group and not a bad wee draw (current FIFA rankings): Denmark (21) or Portugal (6) Greece (39) Scotland (45) Belarus (98)
Some of the groups will not be finalised until after the Nations League quarter-finals in March Group A: Germany/Italy (winner), Slovakia, NORTHERN IRELAND, Luxembourg. Group B: Switzerland, Sweden, Slovenia, Kosovo. Group C: Portugal/Denmark (loser), Greece, SCOTLAND, Belarus. Group D: France/Croatia (winner), Ukraine, Iceland, Azerbaijan. Group E: Spain/Netherlands (winner), Turkey, Georgia, Bulgaria. Group F: Portugal/Denmark (winner), Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Armenia. Group G: Spain/Netherlands (loser), Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Malta. Group H: Austria, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus, San Marino. Group I: Germany/Italy (loser), Norway, Israel, Estonia, Moldova. Group J: Belgium, CYMRU, North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein. Group K: ENGLAND, Serbia, Albania, Latvia, Andorra. Group L: France/Croatia (loser), Czech Republic, Montenegro, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar.
I personally don’t think it’s an easy group at all, Serbia and Albania both qualified for the last major tournament. Mind you, so did Scotland. I was shocked that Albania and Serbia were eligible to be drawn in the same group. That game will be tasty and certainly one I wouldn’t like to be at.
Trouble with qualifying is there are too many teams involved, reason being is that there are too many teams going to the finals itself. The World Cup and the Euros were far better when fewer teams contested the finals instead of watering down the entire competition. Sometimes now it is harder not to qualify than it is to qualify ha!
Loving all the anti Scottish comments. Let’s see how it turns out. Maybe I’ll be the happier again. ABE
Not anti Scotland at all pal, but it is fact that the competition’s have been watered down to the effect that it’s harder to not qualify......fools some fans into thinking their countries teams not bad after all......hope you not one o them eh?
Once again England were one of the top seeds - as we keep qualifying and then getting to the latter stages of every tournament… Who else markedly better could we have got? Serbia weren’t the strongest in pot two ok but if you are a top seeded team then everyone you draw will be worse than you.
