How can Dubois or AJ claim to be a world champion, when there are others also claiming to be a world champions. Why can't there be just one, money I guess. And my money will be on Dubois.
Every twenty years or so it's fashionable to have an undisputed World Champion then strip him of a belt or two straight after. Total farce.
I've gone for Dubois by split decision, 40/1. I honestly think Dubois' jab will be too much for AJ, because he's a bit stiff when it comes to head movement, but not sure he'll get a KO. It'll be close on the scorecards, so 40/1 looks a steal.
Boxing isn’t diluted enough imo, yes it’s a whole bigger sport than MMA so hard to compare but UFC is like the premier league of MMA. The best fight the best, there’s one title for each weight class. Boxing should follow suit, it would be impossible I know but it should’ve never been monetised and split into 4 different organisations. I never understood how one man can be champ in one org but half way down rankings in another. If you’re big enough or hard enough, you should fight any man or lady in front of you and not want to dodge fights for money (although I respect going for money is somewhat better as you’re literally putting your life on the line). Imo boxing is Naff and not entertaining unless it’s heavyweights, while I did enjoy the simpson fight I went to support the town and him but not the boxing. Prediction, AJ round 9 - looks to be back to his old self in the last 3/4 bouts, where he is there to fight with his speed and power not box and score his way to victories.
The IBF are really strict when it comes to enforcing their mandatories. They told Usyk & Fury that the winner had to defend against the winner of Dubois-Hrgovic & they refused by agreeing a rematch clause. In some scenarios like this I think most of us would have preferred Usyk to keep the belt but in general it’s a good rule. It stops a champion from making defences against weak opponents.
If I was betting on this fight then 5/4 for under 7 rounds is tempting. If Dubois takes risks which is how he’s always fought then he’s either knocking Joshua out or getting knocked out himself.
