been to function today in immingham talking to one of the clubs more senior persons ( no names) the financial situation is alot worse than is being said be prepared in january he says for 3 high profile players to leave 1. colgan to hull already agreed 2.burns to derby county 3.shuker to bristol city for 85000 so as not to lose for nothing in summer the current board according to my source has not legislated for such low attendances and the club is still leaking money left right and centre i.e still paying 2 peoples wages not at club things are bleak lets hope promotion can turn us around before mr cryne bails us out again-he cant do this forever
Colgan wouldnt be a great loss Why would Derby want Burns Why would Shuker want to go to a team that may be relegated this season but I do know we are still paying Kevin Donovan 4 grand a week
In truth I think the club will be losing money but............. Not on the scale that is mentioned withint his thread. Any Chairman/owner/administrator would not have budgeted for us to have an average gate much higher than we have. The average for the season so far is 8500ish and I can't see anyone at the club expecting any more to break even. The crowds recently have been disappointing but the home FA cup match will have helped no end. Remember the Chairman said that the club forecasted us to go out in the first round (Budget wise) we will have had two further games in the competition with another 9000ish in the next round if we get through.
I am sceptical that it has got to the stage where 3 players have to leave that were in the pre season budget.
Although the 3 players mentioned are part of the 1st team squad I don't believe we would miss them that much anyway. Don't get me wrong I would rather have them but we have cover.......
Colgan - Flinders.
Burns - Howard/ McpPhail/Reid/Kay/Wroe/Tonge.
Shuker - Devaney/Howard/McPhail. Hardest one to replace but you get my drift

The club is skint and is losing money. However, the club is closer to a more even keel than it has been for many a year. The false dawn under Ridsdale has put the club back a long way. Infact it could be said we were more fiscally sound under Doyle. Suker is replaceable as are all players, however in his current form it would be hard. But if we get 60k for him then its good business. Especially as he is moving up a league. The players not to lose are Devaney and Hayes.
RE: Very worrying - we are 4th and looking as if we are going to get promoted I think we might miss Shuker more than you might think. We need at least 1 team member that will give 100% every match to get his team mates going.
Happy Xmas If we are in such a bad position why have we extended Kells contract?.Having said that if someone does come in with cash for any player I think we'll take it.
RE: Very worrying - we are 4th and looking as if we are going to get promoted Interesting that the source of this has not come back. Also I am sure we budgeted for gates of around 7,700 average and exit from all cup competitions in the 1st Round. If an accounting error has mis-calculated the budgetary requirements, we are no better off than we were under Peter R.
Thats not what Gordon Shepherd has said on the Official site "back operating within budget". so either you're talking B*ll*cks mate, or Gordons lying. I believe Gordon, so there..
I know this'll put me at loggerheads with most on this board But I believe what Gordon Shepherd said in his programme notes is true .
Didnt buy a programme so cant comment, but I hazard a guess that financial prudence is starting to pay dividends. I should imagine the ship has been steadied and that financially we are in a much better position now than 12 months ago.
