I need to find some information about Worsbrough Bridge FC for a presentation at Uni. Anyone got any ideas where I could find information on club history, players etc?

    Cheers!

The Barnsley FA may be able to help. They have records.

There is also a small book in the library which is the Barnsley FA Centenary book.
There are lists in it of who won the various cups from the late 1800's.

Can't remember the new name but it isn't The Red Lion anymore. Spent quite a bit of my misspent youth in the old Red Lion.

    that's good...

just before that period (sixies) they were in the the Sheffield and Hallamshire League. Not sure when they started but I suspect it is a long time ago.

Get Spartacus to talk to his workmate, Doug Wright, who played for them and is a member of the Wright family that did everything for the Brig at that time. Fred Wright was also a councillor and maybe mayor.

Great club....... Up The Reds... Up the Brig

My Late Uncle Jud (Thorp ) was their trainer for many years.

matchday programmes contain a potted history , cup wins etc.

Why not go to a match and speak to one of the backroom people. your best bet would be the Wright family, been involved for decades.
