How about a combination of fouls?

Promotion season, Man City players taking it in turns to foul Clint Marcelle, as soon as the ref spoke to a player to warn him he'd get booked next time they just changed the marker on him and he continued to foul him. One of the most cynical displays I've seen. One of their guys, Morrison I think (used to play for Huddersfield) clattered Marcelle and then accused him of diving, went over and pulled him up by the shirt.

The Krizan one, just back from injury when a Sheff Utd player put him back out again!

    Was it Devlin though?

Seem to remember him playing for Birmingham later but you're right it was S.U. in that game

Remember the Man City game - that was about the time when I thought "Hang on, we've got a good side here, we could go up".

The rest, as they say, is history.

That Bolton player on Dave Watson, the folw which if I remember correctly led to him having to have knee surgery and never making it back. I remember him waving his arms at the Bolton fans as Watson lay getting treatment. Was it Andy Todd?

    Yep, pretty sure

I was sat a few yards from where it happened, right next to East stand. Poor lad tried to carry on playing even though his foot was hanging off.

Robbie Earle on Ian Wardle (keeper)

Tuesday night at Port Vale. Awful two footed challenge that broke his leg & ended his career. I spoke to Wardle about that some years later when he was manager of a sports centre in Havercroft. He said Earle never even apologised.

It wasn't Graham Roberts on Gwyn Thomas

I know it's gone down in Barnsley folk lore that it was, but it wasn't. I can't even remember who it was now and I can't prove it, but it wasn't Graham Roberts.

it was a combination of peter Nicholas & Graham Roberts

i think it was Roberts that initially hacked him down and nicholas stamped/stood on him while he was on the floor. it practically ended his career andneither received any punishment for it.
