I'll start....Workinton at home 0-0.......Div 4 days........mid 70's.........their players were like dustbins......and still we couldn't score
Im gunna take a blast from the past and say, Barnsley 0 - 3 Dee Dahs. We played awful, and it was truely embarrassing.
0-5 v Birmingham When they got 2 penalties and Steve Claridge showed just what a cheating barsteward he was. 1995/6?
Virtually every game from the Steve Parkin era onwards. You might have an easier task asking to name more than 5 decent performances at home from the Steve Parkin era onwards.
0-2 Norwich 2001/02 Wasn't just the fact we went down....we went down without any fight or commitment...completely toothless
RE: 0-2 Norwich 2001/02 good call............i was just looking for a dire game tho'.........one which perhaps you'd rather stayed at home & done some decorating.....
0-0 vs Notts County Could have chosen many pi55-poor defeats from 1983 onwards but the draw against (Warnocks?) Notts County was terrible. Freezing cold, poor football and no shots from either team.
Same here Watson got sent off if I remember right. We spent the entire game lumping balls up to Liddell and Payton when they had two brick-shithouse 18-foot tall center-halfs.
Same opponents , previous season - yours was 1975/76, mine 74'75 http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2516&mid=14295#M14295
we had a couple of really dire new years day games during our recent stay in L1 I'm particularly scarred by the Grimsby game, though don't remember what year - 2002 or 3? Cold, bored, - dull, dire game
Against Watford (I think) about 4 or 5 years ago, tuesday night in winter, bloody frozen and i think it was 0-0 but not sure, was bored to tears :'(.
There really are too many to mention Northampton at home 0-1 Mansfield at home 0-1 Port Vale at home 0-1 Birmingham at home 0-5 Sheffield Wednesady at home 0-3 Crystal Palace at home 1-4 Peterborough at home 0-1 I try to think about the good times
That game has a kind of mythological status with a few of my mates as being THE worst game we've ever seen. 'Remember Notts County?' always brings back a shudder of melancholy recognition. I don't think a single person wanted to be there, from players to managers to fans to St Johns to police dogs. At least we didn't lose though.
RE: we had a couple of really dire new years day games during our recent stay in L1 I presume your're talking about the 6-1 defeat at Blundell Park...that WAS a horror show.
RE:Southend in FA Cup The worst game for me was the Southend cup tie.I came out of the game and I couldn't see where the next win would come from.
