'and lost today to arguably the worst side we've played home and away' http://www.onevalefan.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?79003-Barnsley-2-Port-Vale-1-Post-Match-Comments
Funny that because I thought they were utterly appalling today. They should have been buried well before they scored. On a side note. Their keeper today is comfortably the worst professional keeper I've ever seen, and we've had some whoppers in the past.
We're only 3 points behind them with 2 games in hand so how they can say we're the worst side both home and away has got to be a harsh comment. But anyway we got the win against them today and that's the main thing. Agree about their keeper, he couldn't catch any shots coming in and I have no idea what happened with the first goal.
I'd rather be **** and pick up 3 points than playing decent football and lose every week. Port Fail indeed.
Reading that reassured me. It's like reading this forum when we lose full of hyperbole and calls for a change of manager (usually from people who didn't go to the match). I'd probably agree with two poor teams playing each other and that the ref was appalling. What's a relaxation dog fight? Sounds cool.
We were poor but we were better than them. They are in the top three ***** sides I've seen this season; I genuinely thought they were awful. If they were play off contenders before the game yesterday then this league really is poor.
At times we looked an ok team, not brilliant but also not much difference to most teams in the top half. Our problem is we invite teams on to us instead of going to kill a game off. I saw literally their heads drop after our early second in the 2nd half. Then I saw us sit back, even put only two up for corners and their confidence grew. Seems like most of our wins end by hanging on. Having said that home results improving so another win Tues and we might have some belief again.
Morning mate, good to meet you yesterday, got to agree with your comments, I really thought we were going to concede a late equaliser at the end
Hey Bossman, yes good to meet you too. Maybe get a pint and more time to chat next time. At least we are hanging on now and not letting that equaliser in. Might even claim that as progress lol
Well we weren't exactly brilliant yesterday, and we were f*cking awful when they beat us at their place. Not exactly a massive statement from them, is it?
All seems pretty much the same stuff we get on here tbh some OTT some trying to be fair all typical stuff for a football forum really
I quite enjoyed reading their thread I particularly liked the "parting of the DEAD sea" comment They did have some sensible posters though the one who pointed out there were 4 good teams at the top 4 dire teams at the bottom and not a lot to chose between all the mediocre sides in the middle probably isn't too far out Agree with them the ref was appalling but I don't think he was biased just lots of bad decisions both ways missed a stonewall pen for us could have given them one so they probably even out. No idea where the 6.5 mins injury time second half came from. For once we had a bit of luck
We were on top for the first hour and looking fairly comfortable. We weren't good but they were dreadful. We were camped in their half for the entire first half.
I thought we were poor yesterday. Our shooting was dreadful & there was no tempo to our play at all. We got one absolute gift of a goal through shocking officiating & a terrible goalkeeper & the second was a lucky deflection. Hemmings, Jennings & Hourihane were shocking & despite his 'goal' I thought Lalkovic was pretty poor. We were very lucky to get 3 points yesterday. I listened to the Port Vale away game on player and the commentators said we were terrible so the writer of the above articles probably got a point
Thought lalkovic did well yesterday and caused a lot of problems - needed the ball more in the second half
