Nottingham Forest have confirmed they have accepted a bid from League One promotion rivals Bristol City for striker Grant Holt. As we revealed earlier on skysports.com, the former Sheffield Wednesday forward has been granted permission to speak with the West Country club regarding an initial loan move. The 25-year-old, who joined Forest in a £300,000 deal from Rochdale last January, has had a productive season with Colin Calderwood's side. Holt has scored eight goals in 13 appearances for the East Midlands club, but after recently falling out with Calderwood, Forest have opted to allow the striker to seek a new opportunity with The Robins. "We can confirm that Bristol City made an offer for Grant Holt," said Forest's chief executive Mark Arthur. "We gave Grant permission to speak to them." With Thursday's Football League loan deadline looming, City boss Gary Johnson may aim to conclude a move ahead of the busy Holiday fixture period next month.
