<p class="big">Championship pair Southend and Colchester United are understood to be heading the chase for Chelmsford City hot-shot Ricky Holmes. </p> Holmes has been lighting up the Ryman Premier League this season with a number of long-range specials and is available for a nominal fee. </p> The 19-year-old is out of contract next month and, as he has been with Chelmsford for less than 12 months, can be landed for next to nothing. </p> A host of clubs have been to watch the explosive winger and agent Saif Rubie has confirmed a deal is likely to happen within a month. </p> "A lot of clubs have taken an interest in Ricky this season as he's been on fire while Chelmsford have been chasing promotion," he told skysports.com. </p> "Ricky's contract is up next month and he's looking to test himself at the highest level possible. </p> "Hopefully we're going to be looking to tie up a deal for him in the next couple of weeks."</p>
