Something I've noticed is that the 4 players who seem to be getting the most abuse on here are Winnall, Hourihane, Hammill & Brownhill. I'm pretty certain that since the start of December Winnall has only missed 2 games, Hourihane has started every single one, Hammill has started every single one apart from the 3 he missed through suspension & Brownhill has started all but one. During that time we've played Saturday - Tuesday most weeks & have played a high tempo 4-4-2 that takes it out of your players a lot more than normal. We've also played more games than every team in our league during that period. There's been no easy games, I can't remember any games where we've been cruising & been able to take players off early or play at a low tempo. I just think it's very harsh to slate any of them 4 considering how great they've been for 5 months. Worth noting that the lads most of you are praising Scowen, Roberts, Williams & Fletcher have played nowhere near as many games & are still fresh. There's no lack of effort just several players who are pretty much spent & we don't have the quality on the bench to change things so for me it's just a big call to get behind them rather than criticising them.
You're not wrong...Hourihane has played 50 , Winnall 53 , it's a lot of football in what's been a long hard season.
You are wasting you're time with some of the bell ends one here,it's been a monumental effort to get to even this point this season and a lot of our squad our running on empty and wether we make it or not it's been a great season so stop ******* bairning and get behind 'em, sithi.
spot on, its been a great campaign what ever happens on Sunday Our high tempo approach is good to watch but requires strength in depth and we don't have enough of that All 4 need a rest but needs must at the moment, lets hope they can hang on for another 4 games COYR
I think Brownhill has been as crucial to our turnaround as anyone, and I can't quite work out why he's got the abuse he has. Like another Ray McHale. I thought he did OK yesterday and does a job in every game. As disappointing as yesterday's result was, and a few individual performances were below par, we've had a group of 14 or 15 who've all contributed to a footballing miracle. And still a chance to complete the job. Sent from my SM-T710 using Tapatalk
I genuinely don't know how some people operate in every day life when they react to such extremes to the slightest issue
I really haven't got a bad word to say about a single one of our players. They give their all every week and the majority of the time they do it in a manner that makes us solid in defence and skilful in attack. They try their best and more often than not that's enough to get a good result. I can't fault them.
Same here. I'm glad that every response on this post has been positive because I was beginning to worry at how many have been tearing into Winnall, Hourihane, Hammill & Brownhill. Think it's completely unfair & none of them can be accused of not giving their all
Spot on mate All of them work their socks off - in contrast to Fletcher who most of the time looks like he's out for a sunday stroll. Not saying that he isn't effective like, just that he appears not to be breaking sweat.
Re: Spot on mate There's not a single one of them that deserve anything but praise. their form in 2016 has been monumental.
The club's transfer policy is to blame for some players playing too many games. We have a first eleven and nowt else.
i draw the line at personal abuse against players, and some of the comments have been OTT. but $hit happens in the heat of the moment. in the main i believe it's because the fans are passionate and care about the Club. i want passionate fans, who support the Club year in year out. that might mean they go overboard every now and then. so be it.
Bit harsh..the same transfer policy has seen us go from bottom to the play offs...just a shame that Watkins White and Williams are all out.
Totally agree. Since Christmas Day, we've played 23 league games. Of those, we've won 15, drawn 5 and lost 3. On top of that, we've kept a total of 13 clean sheets. We're going into the final league game of the season in the last Play Off place and a month ago, we won our first ever Cup Final at Wembley in front of nearly 60,000. *Those players of ours are nothing but a bunch of whining, under performing, talentless, idle, complaining, immature, wastrels(!) * <img src ="https://media.giphy.com/media/j3HQ1zWosr1NS/giphy.gif">
