to give rights and justice to every disabled child and their families?

    About Every Disabled Child Matters

Disabled children, young people and their families have been left out for too long. Every Disabled Child Matters (EDCM) is the campaign to put this right. We want all disabled children and their families to have the right to the services and support they need to live ordinary lives.

EDCM is a campaign by four leading organisations working with disabled children and their families – Contact a Family, Council for Disabled Children, Mencap and the Special Educational Consortium. We will challenge politicians and policy-makers to make good on the Government’s commitment that every child matters.

EDCM is an inclusive campaign. We support and represent thousands of disabled children, young people and families. Through the Council for Disabled Children and the Special Education Consortium, the campaign has direct access to hundreds of organisations, professionals, and disabled people working with and for disabled children, young people and their families.

EDCM is focused on England, reflecting devolution, but will be supporting campaigning activity in the other UK nations, as well as campaigning on non-devolved issues such as benefits.

EDCM is led by a campaign management board representing the partner organisations:

Francine Bates – Chief Executive, Contact a Family
David Congdon – Head of Policy and Campaigns, Mencap
Brian Lamb – Chair, Special Educational Consortium
Christine Lenehan – Director, Council for Disabled Children

    EDCM has two staff:

    Steve Broach – Campaign Manager
    Kate Williams – Campaign Officer

    EVERBODY is scared of laura

you and her dad are pussycats compared to laura lol
And no thanks are needed. Too much money is being spent on people that don't even need it, it's about time that some of it went to helping those that do.

    Thanks stevie.

You're correct it should be their right to have the facilities they need to have quality and quantity of life, but unfortunately in most cases it's left to the families to provide for them. It's no wonder that many families split because they can't cope with having to be there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We're fortunate that Laura can do many things for herself, so we do have sometime to be ourselves.
