Would we be 4th bottom had Hugo played from the start of the season?

I personally dont think so. Its been a long time since we've had a midfielder who is happy to do the basics without tring to get any glory. He breaks up attacks and plays it simple for the other creative players to make an impact.

Ive been really impressed with him.

He's one of those players that will probably not get much credit because what he does isn't easy on the eye.
But no I think we would be mid table, like you say very impressed.

    Me too

Mind you they all played well yesterday. You could argue that he did his job so well that it made the team play well.

He will do a good job with anderson in midfield, no frills just wins the ball and can distribute well.

Andersen was the one breaking the attacks up for Howard to attack more. Now it looks like its Colace doing the breaking up and letting Andersen go forward more

EIther way i think these 2 together could be a great midfield pairing

It could be the formula for away games as well

Andeson and Colace are both holding players really so we'll be much stronger in the middle. I know Anderson isn't perhaps as creative as Howard, but as we saw yesterday he put two glorious chances on a plate for Hume and Macken so it's definitely a partnership that could work well.

Been impressed with him. Can only get better the more he plays. Very tidy footballer, likes his defending too. Could be a key player this season. With him and Anderson in the centre and JCR and Devaney (to a lesser extent) on the flanks we have got a very good Championship midfield.

I reckon having two holding midfielders playing together

might not be a bad thing at all. Bit of solidity never hurt anyone and with Devaney and a free-roaming JCR providing the creativity, safe in the knowledge that those two are behind them, we're not missing out on anything. They'll inspire attacking confidence.
