That particular line has also gone cold, the last reports are of Alfie saying he's happy at Swansea. Even so, we shouldn't be relying on transfers from other clubs before we do our own business.
I meant we shouldn't be relying on the funds coming available from a source we have no control over. I'm convinced we did the same last season with the John Stones saga. The funds are available to secure both McBurnie and Pott I would imagine without relying on Swansea selling Mawson to generate us more. How I understand the McBurnie situation, the issue is at Swansea's end so that's another matter altogether.
So we keep hearing. But if it was certain the delay makes no sense to me. If they are holding on to him for the fear that they can't get another striker in then there's no guarantee he'll join. If not, then he should be sent out already.
He is joining...not at all sure what hold up is. This is from swansea btw...they are also still keeping tabs on yiadom....and ate keen.
This clamour about mcburnie is a peculiar one for me. I'm fully aware we need striking options and he may turn out to be a decent signing. I hope he does. My issue is that we have ugbo with a better scoring history already here and due to hecky playing a completely unbalanced midfield yesterday, they missed the 4 runs he made which would have put him in on goal. If we'd had Thierry Henry playing yesterday we'd have missed his runs as well. It reminds me of the preseason we had with Kane hemmings who made a similar number of excellent runs and didn't get the pass. He then stopped making them.
The alleged hold up is Swansea ensuring they have enough cover, which is a weird one really because I wouldn't have thought that McBurnie was that close to the first team. Made a few sub appearances at the back end of last season but that's it. They're rumoured to be in for Alvaro Negredo along with Leeds.
Jim O'Brien used to do the same. I think McBurnie is a different type of striker to what we've had really since, probably George Waring on loan. May not be the answer, and whilst he seems to be nothing more than a bit of a cult hero at Swansea (not sure why), I feel many think he might be the sort of player we've been missing. Not sure myself like.
I'll tell you this I AM ABSOLUTELY FUC_ING SICK OF THIS PANTOMIME OF A TRANSFER WINDOW AND THE LACK OF EXPENDITURE FROM BFC.
