Recent performances have not yielded the points we required to move us out of the bottom three and the performances have been average to say the least. Worrying times
Not enough wins in winnable games. I was told the other day we can't expect to beat anyone in the top ten so where are the points going to come from?
Re: No If we cant pick up 3 points at home to a team as bad as that then I am afraid ther is only one way we can go sack him now
Yes. He has had more resource available than last year. More support than last year from board and admin structure. Momentum which we've not had in years. More budget available. He retained more players than we expected in the summer and then bloated the squad to +30 having said he wanted 20 plus the youngsters. The result, the kids are blocked off. We've then brought in loans, which he didn't want to do. The result we see on the pitch isn't very good. The defence against a side of any form of quality is sieve like and the centre of midfield has no creativity or drive. Tactics are bizarre at times and often not very attractive to watch. Have the results been better the last few games? Yes. But is that because we've played much weaker opposition and not been tested, or that we've actually improved? I'd argue the former. I suspect he'll get more time. I hope he can turn it round and fair play if he does, but from the outside looking in I've no idea what his plan and strategy is to develop and kick on.
A sad yes for me. From the team picked to the one dimensional tactics to the predictable substitutions screamed a lack of any sort of managerial nous. We have just played two of the three worst teams in the league at home and not beaten either. Worrying times.
Reluctantly, I'm starting to think it's time for a change. Agree with most of what DWLc and Jimmy said above. I like Flicker, I really do. I think he gets carried away a bit in interviews and he loves a cliche but he's an honest bloke and seems to genuinely care. But we've failed to beat two awful, one-dimensional sides at home. We look lost tactically - ironically probably our best performance this season came when we were forced into a change of system at Ipswich. We can't play for 90 minutes. We struggle to play for 60 to be honest. We rely heavily on COG and Paddy. COG seems below par right now and Paddy isn't a team player - not intended as criticisms, just observations. Both are crucial to our survival bid and are among our best players but they aren't going to save us on their own. We have too many passengers. Just feel so disillusioned right now, this was the first season in a long time where I went into August thinking we were capable of decent football and a reasonably safe, boring mid-table finish. That's all gone. I now believe 100% that we will be relegated. Having said all that, I'm not sure a change of leader would help that much. There's no money to make changes and no manager with a magic wand waiting in the wings to boost us up the table. Last season I believed. I want to believe again. I'm just not sure there's much left to believe in.
