Re: Would love to Akitas are tricky though, Dek. So many Akitas end up in care because owners can't handle them when they grow, adolescents can be pretty feisty too. It's the who trophy dog syndrome. Good owners who have the space, time and knowledge (such as young Kev, there) to handle big dogs, usually already have their animals. You'd think dog like this would be snapped up in no time, but it's not the case. And they do drain the resources of the rescue centres - they eat more, usually need a pen to themselves, require more exercise etc...
