Wow. We were absolutely brilliant tonight. After the first 15 minutes, we took the game by the scruff of the neck and were simply awesome. Wolves have one hell of a goalkeeper in Hennessey, and when you remember they have Murray too, its scary. His saves from a sensational Werling freekick, and a Ferenczi header, were saves to remember. Its difficult to single out individuals for us because everyone was superb, but a few deserve a mention. Dominik Werling had by far his best game for the club - marauding down the left hand side like a certain Brazilian lookalike, but with much better defending, and much better freekicks. Jamal Campbell Ryce was simply unstoppable. A Wolves fan on 606 tonight said "he mauled us, he was Ronaldo-esque at times." I was very critical when we signed him of his crossing, but he's clearly worked at it a lot, and he was an absolute worldbeater tonight. Tore Michael Gray apart - he was an absolute joy to watch. Jon Macken. Another who I was very unsure about - his first touch is absolutely immaculate. He just needs a goal and he'll be away, his link up plays been superb. Same goes for Ferenczi really. Heinz Muller. What can be said. Another great penalty save. Awesome.
Steve Foster's an unsung hero too, links up very well with JCR. To be fair, its difficult not to give a mention to every single one of them. Mostto even worked incredibly hard when he came on up top.
I only actually remember TWO individual errors in 90 minutes. Souza's poor attempt at a back header which lead to the penalty (first instinct was that Nyatanga may be sent off - last man?) and Anderson giving the ball away in the first half which lead to a break. We were that good. Wolves team selection was baffling, and I don't think anyone performed for them except Hennessey- though we didn't let them play. Great substitution by Davey when Eastwood came on in the hole - instantly sent on Togwell who stuck to him like glue, he never got a kick. Brilliant Reds, thoroughly deserved and sometime soon, someones gonna get a right hammering.
