There's a pretty profound shift in opinion this morning isn't there? It's by no means 50/50 yet but considering the fact that the pro-lobby was all but dead and buried a remarkableturn-around by anyone's standards.
It seems my concerns aboutthe difficulty of going from dealing with one client to dealing with 10,000 were unfounded.A couple of expertly timed and worded press releases and we're all reaching for our cheque books. Well, not quite all.

Thinking the same, maybe people are still intoxicated with the relief of staying up. It won't last if we kick off with Mr Davey still in charge
The season ticket prices have turned opinion despite getting 8 reserve games less for your money. People feel happier after surviving the drop again. But when the new season kicks in and Simon tries his groundbreaking dodecahedron formation it will turn once more.
Sadly it will be too late by then but the mental image of Davey's groundbreaking dodecahedron formation has made me laugh
In fairness the biggest criticism of Davey was always if we don't sack him we will be in League One next year, which must have been said 1000 of times. that didn't happen and consequently there is now a reasoned debate. A lot of people said wait til the end of the season to discuss it and thats whats happening now
I see individuals whose opinions this week are different to last.
AndI don't think that's down to escaping relegation by the skin of our teeth.

My opinion this week is different to last I was of the opinion that our best chance of staying up was by keeping Mr Davey at the helm. Now that we have achieved that I think it's time for a new manager.
Perhaps, although I think there's a lot of people too who didn't have a strong view either way on Davey who are commenting now that we are safe and looking forward to next season. Personally I'm still too happy to really care who's in charge next year!
I'm of the same opinion but can we wait till a couple of months into next season, when Wolves start getting tanked every week, so we can get Mccarthy in... please.

RE: I see individuals whose opinions this week are different to last. I think my biggest concern is with those people that seem to want Davey out at all costs. I really don't know how attractive a proposition Barnsley FC is to an out of work manager, but the club have to factor in the costs of compensation to Davey plus remuneration package for the new guy. Presumably if we want someone of higher calibre than Davey we have to pay more, and given our finances and likely attendances next season, is that realistic?
There doesn't appear to be a surplus pot of cash waiting to be spent so the finances need to be based on expected income vs. expenditure. Barnsley's average home attendance was less than half that of Derby County this year, and whilst we have little debt whilst other clubs do, it seems reasonable to me that clubs like Derby, who have a much higher turnover, can offer more for their managers, and therefore attract a higher calibre of manager, than we ever could.
So back to my original point, if we get rid of Davey, what will we get in place of him? We have to avoid another managerial merry-go-round as that has been our biggest downfall over the last decade in my opinion, so if we get rid there has to be a real bargain out there. If there isn't and we face another rocky season with Davey at the helm, then so be it, as the increased likelihood of going back into administration such a move could bring about, is just not worth the risk in my view.

I've changed my opinion of Simon Davey.............maybe slightly .............I think we need another manager not because I think Simon Davey is a bad manager.........I think in the long term he could be a very good manager He has the ability to spot good players, but he seems to have shown this season that he cant get the players working as a team Consequently we have struggled at the wrong end of the table AGAIN. This has resulted in a much reduced level of confidence in the club from the players and the fans - for this reason we need a fresh start, which of course means a new manager
