Put clean through courtesy of a defensive error and drew a save from the keeper.

Am I right in thinking that was the only time hes hit the target apart from the close range header at Brentford?

Im sure he didnt force a save against Chesterfield on his debut when clean through on at least three occasions.

I honestly cant remember him looking like scoring in all the time hes been with us.

    was he?

dont recall that. ricahrds was clean threw and drew a save but should have certainly scored. Richards often lacks composure in front of goal. better with the quick chances. which is strange as he is good at pens. certainly a player you need in a run of form

    Wright was clean-through..

if you define "clean-through" as a striker being in on goal, except with two defenders infront of them.

Wright did well to even get a shot on target in that situation. He also had a perfectly good goal disallowed on his debut.

    The thing with Richards is..

that he's a tidy player, but when he's through on goal, you're just never confident he'll put it in the net.

no he was in on goal. we were one nil down, he had his shot saved and they went to the other end and scored another.

He wasn't in on goal at all!

Their defender mis-controlled it and it went to Wright, with both centre-halves infront of him, he dummied to make some space and then shot, and Turnbull tipped it away. They scored a couple of minutes later.

No way was he "in on goal". I don't think Tommy Wright is up to much (yet) but thats just criticism for the sake of it.

    Sorry

Youve totally misread my posting. I actually commented that he had forced the keeper into a save. Something that I couldnt remember him doing very often before.

    Not actually a critisism.

    Wrong

you must have had your beer goggles on kid. Richards was the one who was clear through one on one with the keeper. Wright's was when there right back gave him the ball and he had two premiership defenders in front of him, shifted ball past one and got a decent strike off.

so it was richards who should have scored with ease. ANd wright who did very well to get a shot in. Another case of blame Tommy its easier!

    no it wasn't

when we were one nil down, richards had a great chance but fluffed it, they went down the other end and scored.

Wright would have been doing well to mess up at that point because he was on the bench till we were 3 nil down.

:pff true. i think we have good hard working strikers in richards and wright need the right partner for one of them imo.
