Just to let anyone that's arsed know we raised £800 for http://www.bsarcs.org.uk/ through WSB7.

Any suggestions for where WSB8 profits should go, let us know.

    Cheers.

+ a donation or gift to the family of the young man killed whilst fighting ISIS, as a gesture of appreciation from the people of the town. Or a donation in his name to either the Red Cross or the Poppy Appeal, as there have been many servicemen and women killed in recent conflicts from the town and none are more or less significant than any other.

I saw a "Love Barnsley Hate Football" sticker outside the door to Leeds Magistrates Court this morning. Made me smile on my way to work.

Why do they need the money? Genuine question. I understand why such groups exist - support, camaraderie etc, but not why they would need money. An LGBT person does not need food or shelter, like the homeless for instance, they do not need specialist medical attention like the elderly or the disabled or those recovering/dying from disease. They do not need specialist equipment like a sports club. An LGBT person could, of course, be homeless or sick or disabled, but we have anti-discrimination laws in this country and any LGBT person can rely on the same charities as a straight person. You're not an LGBT homeless person, you're just homeless. You're not a LGBT person with cancer, just a person with cancer. What specific needs to LGBT people have which require funding that the rest of us don't have? Like I said, genuine question.
