Undeceided to me came stoped then came again by the time he'd done that he wasn't getting the ball. Either come or don't bother can't do what he did.
A rush of blood, then changed his mind. He's young and will make mistakes but he will learn from tonight.
I was sat in direct line with the said incident....jackson gave up the ghost due to inexperience should have continued and put the ball over the east stand, davis stopped then realised jackson was giving up the ghost so set off again.........jackson for me was the one at fault.
I'm in the Ponty so my view wasn't great but I did wonder if he'd been in two minds about his defender covering. What you've said makes sense and certainly explains why he appeared to stutter before coming to the ball.
I thought more the 4th goal against Fulham, not seen it back but it seemed to go straight through him at about head height. The one thing I will say about Davies, and I do rate him but its very evident to me he isnt a very intelligent footballer I.E his distribution. Not particularly his technique more his releasing of the ball, he's too slow and seems to not know whether to do something or not until its too late. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jackson defo at fault I was in line too he was clearly winning the race to the ball, was going to get there first. saw Davies coming out and stopped. He should have carried on and put the ball in row z
Agree, Jackson changed course when seeing Davies coming for it. The first one looks weird, at the game I thought he had got down to the ball first only to see the net ripple. He did come out and claim one later in the game mindst.
It was poor goal to concede but in terms of distribution the Newcastle keeper wasn't much better, kept booting it out every time he cleared it ,not even under pressure
I rate him massively too mate, but from my (very grainy) angle and the Sky replay, it definitely looked like a poor decision to come, at least in such an indecisive fashion.
I think you're right, he certainly got the decision wrong and it cost us a goal. I think the reason he felt he had to rush of his line was that he couldn't make his mind up about our covering defender (Jackson) and in the end it just left him in no-mans-land.
Poor communication between him and Jackson. Jackson looked to slow down as if Davies was coming, yet Davies seemed to hesitate.
I thought Jackson should have cleared the danger, otherwise he had a very good game. Davies made 2 great saves later on.
