Went to a diamond in midfield with Mc Atee as the point, pulled 2 goals back, reverted back to our old ways of defensive nonsense, concede. Absolutely beggars belief. What could've ended up 3 or 4 to 1 has ended in a 2-2 draw because Collins' head pops off of the pillow every morning thinking of ways to make us more and more defensive. The first time in WEEKS he's made a good decision and we turn the game around, only for him to bottle it with 10 to go. I wanted him gone before today, this has topped it off. Bottle job. COLLINS OUT
Trying to hold on against the Football might have Lincoln City. Collins got what he deserved. It's already looking like another play off campaign at the very best. Get shut of him to try and save our season.
Inexperience from Collins showed today and not for the 1st time this season along with his dull football its hard times at oakwell.
Knows we’re vulnerable with a lack of height at the back so got another centre back on ready for the aerial bombardment that always comes late on but for a keeping error we would’ve taken a well deserved 3 points.
I felt when today's performance improved just before Cotter scored it was despite Collins "game plan" not because of it. It was as if the players decided amongst themselves to shrug of his shackles, but he couldn't resist a bit more tinkering instead of leaving them to it. Noticed McAtee and Cotter went straight to Stead giving the high 5s when they came off. 2 minutes later Lincoln scored.
Irrespective of lack of height at the back we're vulnerable defensively, the defensive unit has been pretty poor in a fair few games so far this season and examples include giving daft penalties away, failing to pick up runners and get goal side. Basically we struggle to do the basics and that's just not good enough despite the new recruits. Today we're 2-1 up (brilliant fight back) and for reasons only he knows, Collins decides to sit back and try to hold on. Maybe if we'd have stayed positive then we'd have got the 3rd goal to completely kill it because Lincoln weren't in it at all.
On a rare away visit, I totally agree. Why upset the system when, at most there are 10 minutes left. The subs did not have time to get a first wind never mind a second.
That didn’t happen. We didn’t sit back. Their attacks came from counter attacks. We didn’t concede ground & let them come at us.
