My lad has emerged from his pit to say his life has ended....sorry his X Box has broke. It is saying service error with a red light on the on button.. Anyone any ideas of how to fix it or where to take it to be fixed that is reasonable price to fix it?

    Cheers in advance

if it's a new-ish xbox it could probably be that the hard drive isn't connected properly. I had the same problem and had to convert to using a memory card.

if it's an older one (first gen released 2006) it could be a hardware failure which was a design flaw. something to do with the fans not working properly.

there is a trouble shooter guide at xbox.com that can help. if its the latter problem they will fix it for free.

other than that give em a call. the number is on the site.
