Brother in laws mate has just got Xbox Live but we can't get it to work when setting up</p> It connects to the wireless router but then cant find ip address. We type in th ip address manually but still no use</p> Anyone had same problem?</p> TIA </p>
Does your router do MAC address filtering and if so, is it turned on? If it is, then the network will be visible to all but your router will only assign an IP address to machines with known MAC addresses.
Yes they are....... How you know that?</p> I set brother in laws up at home no probs and he's on Virgin </p>
So its gonna be hard then??</p> They foned up AOL and they said its nowt to do with them and that they couldn't give them their IP address. Load of balls i told em</p> Looks like its gonna be a long Saturday afternoon trying to do it!! </p>
Yeah, and also tried it manually Gonna print off the instructions off the xbox website Cheers anyway pal
configure the device on your router to allow full access through it, using the correct ip address, subnet and DNS paths. works then.
All I did was turn on the 360, the wireless adaptor picked up the wireless router. Typed in the Wireless routers pass code and that was it. Nothing to do with ip address’s or what provider you are with as its just a connection.
That was going through system setup and whatever setting you go through to get to the connection part. After doing a search it was all easy to do and just set itself up really.
