My brother has connected an Xbox 360 to the Internet (Virgin Media) simply by connecting it into his USB modem. He then finds that its choking his internet on his PC. Is there something that he has done wrong???? TIA

if he has connected his xbox to his modem using the network cable then the modem will be sending requests down that - and if the PC is connected using USB then there lies the problem. Tell him to go buy a Linksys wireless router (for cable - not ADSL), plug the modem into the router and then run the xbox and pc from the router. Job done.

He needs to share his internet connection. Otherwise it will do exacly what you say. You can do this by going into Network Connections and sharing the connection to other devices. Here you go mate http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126
