    I can only imagine that the West's involvement in the Middle East will look ridiculous in a hundred years time, like the Israel-Palestine meddling of 60 years ago

    It is totally bizarre too that our government won't support our steelworks.

    They claim we would be compromised without nuclear weapons in a war situation.

    I'd suggest not being able to make bullets, tanks & stuff like that may weaken our hand more?

    Our total foreign policy since the decline of the Soviet Union has been ridiculously misguided.

    If national service were brought back and in times of conflict a lottery system were brought in whereby anyone eligible be they mothers ,sons,brothers etc and bankers,manual workers male and female.
    Wonder how many would be slavering at their televisions to send our military to foreign conflicts.
    Think the demand would be down IMO.
