But ... The games tonight and Saturday could well be wins for us. All games are winnable and loseable in this league - but these two fixtures look a tad easier than some we’ve had up to now. So - as I say l, speculatively - let’s say we pick up the six points. That would leave us on 19 points from 15 games, steady in mid table, and with a game in hand on all those around us (except Reading of course). After 15 games last season, with the squad we all acknowledge to be more settled and stronger, we had 20 points. Potentially just one more. I’m not sure anyone could have expected or wished for any better than that. Even three or four points from the two games this week would represent a decent first third to the season considering the squad upheaval, inexperience and the ongoing off-field uncertainty. Lose both, we’d have 13 from 15. Likely in the bottom three - though not exactly cut adrift even then, so far from without hope. I expected us to grow into the season after a slow start. If anything to be three points above the bottom three with a game in hand is more than could have been expected at this early stage. So I think things are looking quite promising.
Take it game by game , we are slowly getting better as Hecky gets to coach team , and the players grow into the championship
Me too though I reckon we have more chance of 3 points tonight than on Saturday. We are rubbish at home against poor sides who come to defend
Our record at home to Brum is quite poor so I’d be surprised if we win that one. Two draws is my prediction
6 would be amazing. 4 would be great. 3 would be ok. 2 1 or 0 would leave us in a lot of trouble. But whatever happens plenty more games to go, could win the next 2 and go down or the reverse. And any points gained away from home are vital considering how horrendous our home form is 2017.
