Good / Bad Good , as usual the true fans were a credit to the club and town. Bad , we have a moronic element who feel they have the right to be as nasty/drunk/racist/ in public as they want. They range from chavs to grown adults who sit with their own children shouting racist abuse/foul language. They feel they have the right never to be questioned by their own fans/police/stewards/. To be honest it makes me sick and days like yesterday when you look forward to the day/event you know that this element will have a say in spoling your day.It happens at most clubs( but not all ) and yet we the silent majority accept it. Yesterday we had 75 % of our fans at the game who were not regulars and so i suppose we had an increase in the drunken element who wanted a 'good' day out but i found the atmosphere very poor in the stadium from our fans and yet i think that was due to the fans nerves and also the good people being dissolusioned with what they could hear/see. If we stay up good , if we go down i will accept and look forward to next season the sad thing is if we go down the moronic element goes down pro rata and we the genuine fans will be surrounded by less of the scum. I think the club should start and look at our fans behaviour and start to look after the silent majority who quite often pay good money and yet have their day spoilt. I called at St Pancras Stn on the way home to look at the new statues and building and my day was summed up their in a nutshell , Eurostar train arrives from Paris people get off and look and admire and photograph the new statue yet a group of Barnsley fans who were pissed described it as 'fecking **** /****/'and proceeded to climb on it , i thought about talking to them to ask why then i asked myself do i need trouble , answer no. Sad .
Proves the point that both sets of fans have the same element that give the clubs a bad name. We don't need them, neither do Cardiff.
Wholeheartedly agree Completely agree. There was a bloke behind me who everytime JCR or Kayode get the ball shouted come on you dirty little black lovely person or you black b******d. He then proceeded to tell evryone they were not true fans fro not joining in his song he tried to start before missing 15 minutes of the second half because he "wanted a pint". It didn't only make my ashamed to be a fan but to be honest a human being. The worst of it is I feel horrendous for not saying something to him but my missus was so intimidated by him and his mates that she stopped me. Absolutely disgusting and I think the FA should dock teams points whose fans chant reacist abuse because if that was at stake evryone would say something to these idiots.
See this thread too http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/BBS/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=105564&mid=681764#M681764 I was very drunk but I managed a feeble "Oh ****" when KO missed. That was about as bad as it got.
Something I dont oftern say - I agree completely with MrX Well almost completely. The morons behind us claimed they were proper fans who went every week so had every right to be as abusive as they liked to the old and young cu**'s in front who had only come for a day out. That will be like the season ticket holders directly in front of them then with some part time kids who my cousin will be seriously considering whether to take again
