Great performance by the lads. The 1st 15 minutes were outstanding, passing and movement with great pace. We stopped playing football for about 20 minutes after that until the 3rd goal, and what a goal it was. That is how every fan wants to see their team play.

Scunny came into it a little in the 2nd half be never looked threatening and as soon as we got the ball down and passed it we ripped them apart.

    Great performance from everyone really.

Flinders - 7 - Couple of good saves and did well
Hassell- 8 - Solid and kept Beagrie very quiet
Austin- 8 - Superb performance and his distribution with his left foot gets better.
Ried- 8 - Another solid performance. Best centre half we've had since De Zeeuw
Kay- 7 - Worked hard and did OK.
Shuker- 8 - HArd work as usual but with more end product. Superb
Burns- 7 - Did the ugly things well and helped break up their few attacks
Howard- 7 - I like the look of him. Looks very good on the ball. Needs to learn how to tackle better though
Davaney- 9 - What a performance. That flick to start the move for Richard's goal was true showboating. Outstanding
Hayes- 9 - (MOTM) This guy is class. His 1st touch is superb and his overall vision is improving.
Richards- 8 - Works very well up front with Hayes, grabbed a goal and ran his blood to water.

Fair enough , but Richards isnt the answer up front,

Have we offered him an extended contract.

With respect to running his blood to water , I wasnt too impressed when he gave up on the ball at least twice in the 2nd half.

He is a 4th choice striker at best.

i agree in the long term richards aint the answer, but ffs you cant grumble over his effort and commitment,he does a lot of the spadework upfront and deserves praise for his efforts, imho he is one of our hardest working players.

Lets not get too exited by two under performing strikers who turn it on in one game.
If these two are so good then why aren't they doing it every week?
I for one ain't convinced yet.I want more consistancy from these two. They have to be up for every game.

Deveney and Shuker are much more consistant and are scoring more goals than the strikers.

I couldn't make the match yesterday. I had to listern the commentry and it was said on many occasions that it was the worst defence they've seen at oakwell in awhile. Two centre backs been very slow and it looked asif we'd go past them everytime with ease.

    ??? Still i wouldnt know.

I was slaggng him off last week but i have been really impressed with his performanes lately (Y). Think he just needed a goal. He holds the ball up well, hes strong, seems reasonable in the air and now looks quicker and sharper.
Good to see that Nardiello might be back for Huddersfield game. This might make Hayes and Richards perform well week in week out.

Yes they did have a poor, slow defence but i dont think any defence could have coped with Hayes ball control, creativity and dribbling, Richards hard work, running and Debaney and Shukers pace. They were quite simply unstoppable yesterday.

RE: Just saying it as I see it,

Some Reds fans absolutely amaze me,yesterday was the best all round performance by a Reds side for years from back to front everyone did their jobs and then I read on here that Richards is not the long term answer to our striker why be so negative all the time why not just enjoy what you see,as we all know when Chopra first come we all thought he was the answer.NOT.

Okd Choppa was a load a balls before the Watershed of the Donny game.

If you stand still you go backwards.

We played very well yesterday , and almost made the most of every opportunity presented to us.

Like I said previously maybe Richards is still getting up to speed following his move to us.

From Yesterdays game its obvious that Hayes is a creative forward

who will get maybe 10-12 goals a season , but he is likely to set up more than that if we can get the ball to him when he is
in good positions, with an opportunity to put the ball to someone in a better position to score.
