I was there yesterday and it was not good. But was most depressing for me was the "support" the team was given. On the way to the match I read an interview with Arsene Wenger about the abuse he received from Arsenal "fans" after the Stoke defeat. This is what he said: "Society is like it is today. It's a permanent tribunal from everybody. You have to cope with that. What is in the word supporter? Support. It says what it says." Yesterday we had renditions of "You're not fit to wear the shirt", "Wilson out" and bizarrely "We're going on the pitch." None of this is going to lift a struggling young team. We have to get out of this together. Anything else is crap.
Sorry mate but I disagree People work hard all work like myself to afford to go to away matches Yesterday for example cost me 70-80 pound . And the effort the players showed wasn't acceptable We can all sit their clapping along to very poor football but I'm sorry I'm not going to do that. Each to their own I suppose I don't mind losing but I do mind the lack of effort shown by players who have proved can perform at this level Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Some wont be happy mate, till its no more....What decent players are going to want to play here, or them that are here, how many will want to stay. Trying to get rid of the manager.... what then if things don't improve (which our past record of suggest getting rid improves nowt..) Turn on Ben, Maurice even PC... Barry Taylor already gets dogs abuse on here. Do people think that behaver as no consequence. PS.. for all the football brains that wanted the last man out...Micky Mellon...not doing too bad at Shrewsbury is he. There were only one or two of us on here that wanted to give him the job.
Best thing to do is vote with your feet stop going, leave it to the people that don't mind being bullshited and are prepared to pretend that they're not being ripped off and everything is rosy
I wish I could mate but I can't By Thursday I'll be looking forward to the orient game I must have been dropped on my head at birth haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm same something as got to give though, I've decided to call it a day after this season for home games, although I'm going to continue going to all away games
The final straw for me was the Chester FA cup match last week, I used to enjoy going to Oakwell for home games with false optimism that we would win and pleasantly surprised when we did but now I thought I would never say it but I have lost faith in Barnsley and find going to the matches a waste of time and a waste of well-earned.
Provided its not personal abuse or physical assault then I don't have a problem with fans, who've paid a lot of money, from booing or chanting particularly if the players don't put the effort in.
Not after this season no, the clubs rotten to the core, and it'll never get any better if people just keep handing money over, meaning the powers that at the club don't have to do anything for it, if they refuse to speculate to accumulate to protect their investment, then I refuse to be any part of the funding of the club.
Well the support coming over the radio commentary was loud and positive So things need to be put into perspective here. If people don't want to hear negatives at the end of, or towards the end of A game after yet another abysmal performance, I suggests you stop going. I never boo or abuse my team, but after or during the end of a bad game fans have a right to have their say. Let's remember these fans are mostly diehard faithfuls.
Re: Well the support coming over the radio commentary was loud and positive Diehard faithfuls? Some are talking about stopping going to home games.
Re: Well the support coming over the radio commentary was loud and positive ,'Some' and even if some of these are even talking about it,then it speaks volumes of how poor we actually are. The o/p never mentioned the positive support for most of ther game.
We've been absolutely dog **** for years watching the cheap option take our club backwards year after year yet we make a profit every season, that profit could be the difference in being able to appoint a better manage then the **** they keep lumbering us with, we keep hearing about how Patrick and the boys want more academy lad introduced to the first team again the cheap option but it didn't get any cheaper on the turnstile £23 a game to watch that ***** is a crime and it's just going to get worse, it's like watching a loved one suffer from a terminal illness at some point you've got got go home and have some time to yourself to get your own head right and come to terms with the fact there not always going to be there and that you need to start putting plans into place for when there no longer part of your life, packing in with home games first then more then likely altogether.
