Who actually disallowed yesterdays goal. Was it the Ref who instructed the linesman to flag for offside or was the lineman 3 days behind play?
It was the East Stand liner, he saw Cosgrove (I think) flick the ball to Jalo who otherwise couldn't be offside if the ball had come direct from the throw. West Stand liner wouldn't have seen the flick.
Ah, that makes sense. I was even wondering whether Cosgrove was beyond the last defender and the linesman simply had a brain freeze and forgot he was behind the ball.
Once the ref had blown for offside whilst the Barnsley players were celebrating was it fair or unfair to stop their goalie playing the ball out to their player. A good one for VAR ???
I think the ref gave the offside and then the linesman put his flag up. Just like throwins when the linesman waits to see which way the ref has given it before he raises the flag. Does my nut in.
If (as seems most likely) the linesman decided he was in an offside position but was unsure if Cosgrove touched it, then asked the ref to confirm that after the goal then it's good officiating.
