I have to say that two things had an effect on yesterdays result, one was our abject finishing and the other was the ref. I wont blame the ref totally for the loss but he booked our players if they even got close to a huddersfield player yet did nothing to the home players when they committed equal fouls.He seemed to want to get rid of Nads in double quick time and achieved it maybe because Nads would have scored against his beloved huddersfield team. He booked Richards for diving when I actually thought it was a sure fire penalty. The second thing that cost us was our ***** finishing, dont get me wrong the team played really well except for show pony Devaney who IMHO was absolutey w**k and should be out of the team, hayes had a good game but I have to say that he is not an out and out striker and played well when moved out wide. Can someone tell me when shooting was banned from football cos Barnsley players seem to adhere to this rule to the letter and try to walk the ball in all the time. There were countless times yesterday when players had time to get shots off and instead chose to control the ball and play the crab pass to one side or the other or wait to be tackled instead of trying to hit the target with a stinger. Sad thing is that we were better than them and should have won, we were better than bournemouth and should have won but poor finishing is probably gonna cost us a playoff spot, I really hope it doesnt but unless AR realises that he has to play his best finishers on a constant basis we will struggle. Nads is by definition a lazy t**t at times but he does have a quality strikers instinct for pulling off defenders and he is our best finisher by a long way so maybe we have to give him a run and accept his bad points in order to benefit from his good ones. Nads and Richards should be first choice every week with hayes out wide and Devaney in the tunnel out of the way. Basically we are in the same position as Reading were last year, they had a strong defence and were mostly hard to score against but finishing let them down, this year they have sorted out the goal scoring and have been scoring for fun with the resulting success. Learn from this AR and quick cos we need to vacate this league in a hurry and GS and PC want us in the championship, if they have offered you money to spend then for christs sake spend it cos success must be around the corner or I fear changes will follow yet again which I personally dont want to see. I think AR has done a good job but now he has to be more clinical and has to play the players who have top talent in the right position for them rather than being matey with em all and trying to keep em happy. Go for it AR play football as we can and we can fly out of this league but get the best players in and forget being liked or you will be bloke in the jobcentre with the most mates in Barnsley. Also get Richards a pair of wellie with L & R on em cos why he went for the open goal with his right foot instead of his left I will never know. BT
