Well done to the lads on a great display. The attacking football is great to watch and a credit to them all. Should have won but after 4 games i'll take 7 points.
Dont think either team should have had a penalty. Referee missed a blatant hand ball by Soton player in middle of pitch when stood six feet away so how can he give the one he gave?

Colgan-did ok again, couldnt do much about first goal, might be dissapointed not to save the pen.

Hassell-Worst game i have seen him play in a long while. Hopefully a blip but Ozzy n Tongy should be breathing down his neck now.

Reid-Im going to be criticise here but i still dont rate Reid. I think hes a bit hot n cold. He doesnt lead the line like a skipper should (maybe lack of experience). Too many times the ball was floated across and no player seemed to know who to mark. On occasions he got turned by their strikers too. Credit to him he did make some good tackles but jurys still out in my opinion

Kay-Improving every game but i still think he would benefit from an older head alongside him

Williams-Did ok but again when ball came over he seemed to bestruggling to mark his man. Hecky seems to do the same. I still think Ozzy is a better left back than both of them.

Devaney-Reasonable first half. He actually tracked back this week but sometimes i wonder why he doesnt take players on more. Faded in second half

Howard-Great stuff and Motm for me despite him being taken off (strange one that). Driving force we may have been lacking. Not afraid to have a shot on goal neither

Togwell-Some great tackling but also some occasional giving the ball away. Im hoping he will become a great player. Still young so still time

McIndoe-Started brightly, faded a bit but had a reasonable game.

Hayes-Powder puff. He really needs to improve the physical side a lot. Took his pen well but and neat and tidy passing but needs more effort

Richards-One of the best games i have seen him play. Again taken off when i think he should have stayed on. Hes improving. Well done Rico!

Have to agree with almost everything you said, although Kay was my MOM, I thought he was superb today.

Have to add to that by saying that I thought Mike Dean had a good first half and a diabolical second half. I said after 10 mins of the second half, "Burley must have had a good talk to the Ref as well as to his team"

Reid MOM for me - was doing Hassels job for him as well yesterday!

Number of times he had to bail him out was ridiculous. Surpised Tonge didnt replace him rather than Howard.

    Reid was superb yesterday.

As was Kay apart from the stupid moment where he stepped up too late and stood with his arm raised, and had to be bailed out by Williams.

Thought Kay was the better of the two centre halfs.

How many times did he bail Williams out and Reid and Hassel.

Reid was the best player for me yesterday.

Hassell didn't seem that bad but I noticed that he was the only player not to celebrate both goals we scored.

I spoke to a load of Southamton fans after the match.....and...

they were very realistic about it, they too thought the ref was making some bad decisions both ways. They said their penalty was not a penalty too. They did think that both teams had plenty of chances to win the game, yet agreed we both deserved something from the game...which in fact we both got as you all know. They seemed a good bunch of fans, football fans who knew football well and not biased fools.I was however less than impressed with write up we had(or rather didn't) in the Sunday Mirror. It was all about their man Rasiak with almost an "Oh Barnsley were there too" thrown in.

    Really?

Reid made at least 2 awful errors that required goal saving tackles from Kay

    When?

I'd love you to name them.

I certainly remember Kay stepping up and playing offside when Bradley Wright Phillips was through on goal and Williams had to bail him out - don't remember Reid making any errors.

Thought other than that one Kay error, they were both excellent.

ozzy is an awful left back

only reason he is still at the club is cos of his low wages

    Absolute nonsense

He is the best defensive fullback at the club.

    now that's absolute nonsense

He's on a par with Williams but is far worse than Hassell and Hecky

just cos Ozzy is local lad dunt mean he's good

Ozzy isn't the best player in the team but he's definitely not the worst either.

If he wasn't up to it, he would have be shown the door ages ago.
