Great result, not the best of games but the 3 points were the only thing that mattered.

We defended exceptionally well, Muller made three terrific saves before he actually made the penalty save and the defence were very clean and tidy in what was a very nip/tuck game - Preston were just about as good as us, nothing much in it.

I thought the midfield, save JCR was very poor. Togwell was anonymous, he did put the effort in but he isnt the answer at the moment - not sure what is.

Macken - excellent debut, looked a class above and will be a good signing for us.

That save by Muller at the end was phenomenal, he is an excellent goalkeeper.

Last thing - the fans, yet again! What more do they want? There were minutes remaining and Campbell-Ryce did excellent work by holding the ball in the corner, buying valuable time AND winning 2 freekicks...yet the fans were booing! What the hell? As soon as he crossed the ball in, they booed even louder - I just laughed.

Anyway, well done reds - lets have another 3 points tomorrow.

UP THE REDS!

I came away having enjoyed it - having thought all the way through the second half that the misses were going to cost - and almost did

we all have different expectations of what constitutes a good match, admittedly it wasnt pure football but enjoyable all the same

Togwell, doesnt always stand out (except with some poor distribution) but (I think) does the dirty stuff well, shouldnt really have got to that chance late on, shouldnt really have scored (which he didnt) but I think every team needs one and he is ours

We were awful

as we have been most of this season, but got three points.
Too much long ball, when we did get it on the floor we couldnt put three passes together the majority of the match and when we did have the chances we blew them. Howard had a stinker, Togwell should be dropped, Devaney might as well have not been on the pitch and Kozluk nearly cost us.
Preston were a terrible side. They didnt look up for it at all which was handy.
Muller, Ferenczi n Macken carried us.

And for all those who disagree i just wonder what your feelings would have been if that pen had gone in?
We need to improve very fast if we are to live with Wolves n Watford coming up.
Hopefully tonight we will get a performace and a result !

No complaints about the result but surely it is masking another very poor display.
I know its all down to taste but for me this style we have now is not football and not worth the entrance fee

Cue the abuse

And yet with better finishing we could have won 4-0

Despite Preston's pressure we created by far the better chances.

We were'nt awful, 2 evenly matched sides.......

not a classic game granted, last year we were awful, thought the game had some good play from both sides at times.

RE: And with a worse goalkeeper we could have lost 4-1

What impressed me greatly....

... despite the obvious of course, was Ferenczi's workrate. Apart from linking up well with Macken at the front he put in a much needed block just in front of Muller's goal only minutes before the end. One or two might just take note, I hope.

No wonder tha lad looked nackered when he came off. Glad he's ok to play again for us tonight.
