mark halsey is the best ref i have seen down at oakwell for a long time - for me he used common sense and let the game flow! at least there was a positive from the game!

What about the advantage that never was?

Richards but the ball in the net but the ref pulled it back. To my mind that still hasn't been cleared up.

To say he's a prem ref we thought he was awful. Must have played advantage to us on at least 4 occasions when there was no advantage and the free kick would have been the better option eg how is passing the ball to Devaney with 3 defenders around him an advantage? Bottled a sending off. We've seen refs give reds for less, the Coventry player went in on Howard late and with intent. Cocked up the offside/goal. Conned by injuries to Coventry late in the match......poor in my book.

He's usually poor in the Preiership as well, so don't take it to heart.

    eyes painted on

    thee & halsey both.

Let Coventry continually kick luumos out of us, shirked a cast iron red card two yards in front of his face, ballsed up the offside/play on/definate goal incident and let coventry get away with blatant time wasting.

    Aye he was class.

He didn't disallow the goal because....

he has already blown his whistle before Richards kicked the ball. Yes he did initially wave play on, but then realised the keeper hadn't heard him. He rightly then brought play back to the initiall incident (offside)Ref's do this regularly. He was wrong with a few of our fouls when trying to play advantage when our lad was surrounded by three of theirs. He was a decent ref, but that was about all he was.
