Wish Hecky would put him back to the left back position. I just can't gather why he is rated highly as a right back, always looks bang average to me in that position and far far better on the left.

I'd stick Yids at left back and McCarthy on the right...

 

I'm still not convinced by Fryers either to be honest.

 

Looks ok going forward but defensively he’s very poor.

 

I’d play him at left back. He’s far better there. Doesn’t get caught out positionally as much and seems to concentrate more.

 

He's a bit like Hammill on the left. Cuts inside, causes problems, in-swinging crosses.

Plus it allows McCarthy the RB slot and he's in good form.

I'd play him there because he can and he's better than any of the left backs we have. It doesn't make sense that he plays better there though. It's essentially the same job he does on the right.

 

When did he become this world class player

 

I think he just takes more care positionally and concentrated more as it is less ‘natural’.

 

I think he is a solid LB at this level, just baffles me that his favoured position is RB.. Maybe as people have said above, possibly adds an extra level of vigilence when playing at LB. Plus I think it makes a big difference who you have playing in front of him on the wing.
