What you pillocks are basically saying is that you do not want a club to support in 5 years time then? If you fellas were in charge we would be in the Unibond within 3 seasons with gates of 200 and playing in a local park. I dont know what you expect the board and managment team to do. They have financial stability, they got promoted before any of you lot even thought it possible even though I predicted it last year ie I know more about football than you lot put together. In fact my dead skin cells know more about football than you lot. I really dont understand your negativity, season ticket prices remained frozen despite playing in a higher league where more revenue would have been welcome but you lot would have complained at paying higher prices as it means less money for other activities like boozing. You complain about the pies and the cost of drinks at the club, this is beyond the control of the club as it is sub contracted out. You then complain when we replace Shuker with McIndoe, McPhail with Togwell and Conlon with Coulson. I believe our squad is stronger in quality now than last season but is light in numbers. This I believe will be addressed soon. The young GK will sign, I think Healy will sign (they are probably just being cautious understandably) as if he signed whilst injure you lot would complain at that. I would rather the club do all the relevant checks and delay the signing for a few days than rush it and live to regret it. I also believe that the club will sign a striker in due course who will improve the team and squad. Give them a chance then criticise objectively once you have seen them play if things are not going well, I for one believe we will stay up and finish around 18th/19th which is success. All Im really trying to say is you ALLEGEDLY support BFC if you do then it is time you showed that support and get behind them on Saturday. We can make the difference. I think we will win 2-1 on Sat. Rant over.
see the name Why on earth does signing a striker mean the club will go tits up For bleeding pity's sake? We got promoted despite our transfer activity last season - February 2nd/3rd good chance of automatic - May 5th after 2 wins in last 12 games due to lack of goals. Then luckily made it through the play offs. What a surprise that given we are in a stronger league with better defenders many feel our strikeforce will prove to be impotent again? I have not heard any complaints about McIndoe & Togwell. We all support BFC and care deeply about it but that does not mean blind faith. I gave financial support in June, as in the previous 30 years. I shall be shouting my heart out for them come saturday when my overwhelming passion in life consumes me.
Calm down Tykeman It's not like you to lose your cool. Let's face it, nearly everyone on here is in no position to know how, what and why, re the running of the Club. Everyone on here is passionate about the Club and all who contribute show their allegiance in different ways. You may or may not approve personally on why, what and how that allegiance is expressed on here. Let it go................... It's not worth it. YouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuReds! Tina
Nar then tykeman We are not being negative We are being concerned........there's a huge difference Great success at Cardiff has been followed by nothing but bad news I would rather hear no news than constant bad news i.e. the present squad - signed, not signed, could sign, not yet signed etc etc This has been followed by rumours followed by reports from the club of players missed, missed and more misses The owner of the club says we want bums on seats players The manager says we will go with the players we have got The club should make a statement of their intent For example - we will go with the players we have and if this dosen't work out we will strengthen in the next 6 weeks I among others think we have a weaker squad than last season and this is at a time when we have gone up a league If things go wrong, and lets hope they wont, then the fans will look at the inability of the directors to bring new players in over the close season. The fans will blame the directors i.e. the Chairman before any blame falls on AR As for supporting the team......I have said this before - I voice my concerns in the street, in the boozers or where ever there are Barnsley fans talking about the club. I don't voice my concerns at the players during a match You will never hear me shout anything negative at our players during a match I only shout encouragement How many fans can honestly say that Can you ???
RE: Calm down Tykeman Fair enough Tina but some people are negative just for the sake of it. I just do not think they would have a clue how to put the club back on an even keel. We have a better financial position, a squad of young hungry players who will have benefitted hugely from their Cardiff experience and the whole play off experience. I also think we will play against proper football teams this year as opposed to pub teams and that will help our flair players. Our 1st 11 in my opinion is good enough to hold its own. Another GK, Healy and a striker would in my opinion allow us to consolidate comforably.
RE: see the name "I shall be shouting my heart out for them come saturday when my overwhelming passion in life consumes me." Same here, like i do every week Just because someones negative on here doesnt mean they dont get behind them etc. The worst fans are the people who dont whinge on here, but whinge on Saturday. I prefer to whinge on here (e.g. we need a fcking striker) and sing my heart out on Saturdays. Wouldnt be surprised if young Nudgers the same.
So, in a nutshell you agree with all the "doubters"!! All we want is a midfielder, goalkeeper and a striker who knows where the net is! OK a couple want a CH but hey, lets not split hairs.
RE: Nar then tykeman I can yes. Also I think AR said he wanted to give the players a chance who got us there. That is a clear statement. PC said that IF box office players became available Barnsley are MORE LIKELY to try and find the money to compete. This was not a promise of box office players to sign. At the open day GS also confirmed they would support AR as much as possible in the recruitment of further players and this is an ongoing process.
RE: So, in a nutshell No I have said I think we will survive with the squad we currently have. Further signings would just improve the depth of the squad.
RE: So, in a nutshell "All we want is a midfielder, goalkeeper and a striker who knows where the net is!" Midfielder - Healy Goalkeeper - Lethrenan or that ex Wednesday keeper Striker - Shipperley, on loan at the end of the month.
I was there on Tuesday night and I agree Fans' passion is what makes football so special and so volatile. Most people on here are not in a position to see 'behind the scenes' All they see is their passion for the Club. It can be blinding. Today's news that Colin Healy hasn't signed has wound a few people up. It would have been better to say nothing then presented him on the Monday as a BFC Player. There have been too many 'mixed' messages coming out of Oakwell these past 3 weeks. Someone really does need to gain a grip on the PR - it's not rocket science and would make the fans feel much happier.
As long as no two of Howard McIndoe Reid Colgan Hassell Togwell Hayes are injured at the same time! and assuming the front players (strikers is a misnomer in this case) find 30 goals between em. And the midfield chips in with another 20.
Well AR needs to make another statement to underline what he and the directors are trying to do Because I can assure you there are a lot of people out there who think the board of directors are trying to keep us in the Championship on the cheap and by doing so are risking the club falling through the trap door again
Much as I dont want to side with Tykeman I think you do have a point. This unending negativity from some posters is pissing me off too. True not everything is perfect - but it could be an awful lot worse. We definitely need more strength in depth - but there are still several weeks before the window slams shut - so no need to panic yet. and a striker is quite important but must be better than we have already and not want £10K a week in wages. I still think on balance we are in better shape than this time last year and first impressions are the players we have signed are better than the ones they replace. We will know more by mid september though
This unending negativity ...............makes this message board very very busy If we dint have nothing to argue about this message board would be (RIP) So stop yer wittle I post on here how i see it If you see it different ...........tell me So next time I see thi I can give thi a good slap (lol)
RE: This unending negativity ...............makes this message board very very busy you gargle the spunk of an old hippo with **** rot.
