Yorkshire struggling and Inzamam out already

Discussion in 'Bulletin Board ARCHIVE' started by Gloucester_Red, Aug 23, 2007.

  1. Took Warwickshire apart yesterday for not many and now Yorks are 50 for 3. Looks like a great start to the season is fading away (as usual!). Poor start for Inzamam, out for only 8

Why the hell did we take on Imzi

    The man has no spine.

    He cannot run

    His leadership is hopeless

Don't rate him one bit, if I was a fast bowler I'd love to get him in just so I could rough him up big style and watch him fall to pieces.

    'The man has no spine'

He's not come across to lead the team, and have you seen his Test record?

He was one of the best batsmen in the world and is still a good player.

One innings and he's crap... don't know why I'm surprised on this board though.

    my thoughts exactly journo

and inzi isnt one of my favourite players, just he is a class batsman and no one can dispute that, just hope he shows it for yorkshire

  6. He wouldn't get in my list of favourite players but....

....if he makes a similar contribution to Younis then who's complaining. Pity he couldn't have gone out to bat mid-afternoon - early morning batting often fraught with danger I suppose. Looking better now anyway at over 150 for 4. Be nice to get 400 plus by lunchtime tomorrow then bowl Warwickshire out for an innings win.
I think we can STILL do it - but for bad luck with the weather we might be well in front by now, points-wise.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

No mate. He's been in for 43 years, is 16 not out, and looks on the verge of nudging a single to fine leg, although it might be a leg bye.

Not basing my judgement of him on his one innings for Yorks

I'm basing it on the times I have seen him play test level cricket.

He is a yellow bellied chicken.

He might be fat, slow etc etc but the simple fact is he's a good batsman.

You weren't even born when he first picked up a bat, so how much of him have you seen?

Did I mention that he wasn't?

I don't think he will be up for it.

    Why should he bother?

Cold end to a crap summer, he'll be wrapped up in so many sweaters, plus his lard that he'll not be able to see the ball.

Many Test series against England and other countries on TV.

I think you'll find most people think he's a great player.

Why should I care what other people think, this is my opinion of him. If you want to repeat other peoples opinion of him then you are no more than a Journalist. Oh, yes, so you are. Should have realised original though was outside your remit.

What on earth are you on about?

I gave MY opinion and the fact that most cricket fans I know and most pundits/ex players etc all rate him too backs that up.

It's been a while since someone resorted to the journalist jibes, nice to have them back, especially it's a completely irrelevant point.

My opinions and stating other people's opinions is nothing to do with journalism.
