But I have said I will give it till Xmas but here are the facts so far 11 new players brought in 2 league games played, goals from open play NIL, goals against 6 Touch and go win in cup against lower league team plus goals against 1 Style of play....unknown / long ball...awfull Strogest team....unknown Play so far.....crap Lost last two games of last season, no win in two this season I wait to be convinced BT
Can't argue with the facts you have posted but this Board needs some positivity. YoooooooooooooooooReds!
Be honest tho Dan If Lee hadnt scored against Leeds, can you honetly have seen us staying up having lost against the foxs and having to get a result at WBA. As I say i wait to be convinced but not looking good yet BT
Special thought for you Tina I actiually like the players we have brought in and feel if they are played to their strengths we could have a real good squad. We just seem to be doin the headless chicken thing at the mo but if it all gels I think we could have a pretty good seaon. BT
Difficult to argue against the facts presented by Baldtyke, and this from the Colchester Board. Simon Davey has been the manager of the Tykes since November following the departure of Andy Ritchie for a perceived lack of ambition from the club's board. However, the new man doesn't have a great record having lost seventeen of the 33 games he has been in charge for - winning only twelve. Last 4 competitive games -WE'VE CONCEDED 14 GOALS. Doesn't inspire much confidence in tactical nous. WBA hit 7 Coventry 4 Darlington 1 Colchester 2
Good on yer. To be honest, we're having a slow start but as you say, if we play to the players' strengths, there is a strength about the team that was not there before I am very happy at getting a point today. I haven't missed a Colchester away game in years, but I am camping andcan'tt ge
I thought the league was about 46 games? At Xmas who really thought Ritchie would keep us up? Davey installed discipline and belief that the players could stay up. Rattled a few of the big names (at BFC anyway) letting them know they couldnt be 1st choice on name alone. Devaney and Howard are prime examples. We've just had a draw at a team who had one of the best home records in this division last year, and finished 11th. Just because their ground is small do not let this fool you into thinking Colchester do not deserve to be in this division. I'd take a draw at any ground away from home. Your asking 11 players to click straight away. It never happens. But what we have it a squad that can be changed around if things are not working, and the players will have to perform to stay in the side - something we've not had for a number of years. Give it a chance. Two games means nothing at the start of the season.
RE: I thought the league was about 46 games? Davey was in charge at Xmas.
I doubt the players ever gave up to be honet.

You cant honestly think the squad as a whole is as lightweight as last year? Centre half short I agree (maybe hassel will be the answer) but cover in for every single position is something we've not had for years......
So penaltys dont count? By sounds of it, we would have scored if there keeper didnt concede the penalty.
Can't disagree with any of that, except..... .......the waiting to be convinced bit.
I don't think SD is going to metamorphisise into a decent manager. GS needs to admit his mistake.
