I agree. Sad that I am, I've just looked over the league tables for the past few years and 12th place is about 62 points or thereabouts. We weren't far off that last season, even with the disastrous start. Highly confident for next season so far.
the points tally - and the gap between relegation and play offs - was nothing like i've seen before. will be interesting to see if that was a freak season, or if the bar has been raised
If we can keep our post January form going we're going to break into the top six. Whether we can achieve that I'm not sure but I am positive we're going to have a good season.
I could only see three teams worse than us at the beginning of last season. Two were Bristol City and Peterborough, who went down, whilst the third was Millwall who finished just above us. Fortunately Wolves were rubbish. This time though I can see 12 who we can finish above. At the very least I think we will go into the last half dozen games of the season without the threat of relegation.
i don't think we're a natural top 6 side. we might flirt with it from time to time, but have a way to go to get there. we were fighting for more than just points last season. it was a 3 months siege. i don't expect that level of intensity over 46 games.
