They are just 'kick abouts' and the real thing will be better. Well it was'nt it was worse and we have learned nothing from last season or the start of this season and the football is non existent. For goodness sake Davey get some passing and method in the play instead of this utter tripe dished up today.

I agree with you. People always have an excuse for a bad friendly result and yet even in a competitive match situation we continue to lose matches like we have all summer.

    Absolutely spot on Watyke!

Many on here said pre-season games don't matter and they could be right, but those pre-seasons
showed we were still suspect in defence and today clearly amplified that trait.

I really would like somebody from the club to explain the logic behind playing a centre-half (Souza)
at left back - when clearly it didn't work at Gigg Lane last week, whilst you've got a recognised
left back (Werling) on the bench.

Mind you, there were fans sat round me who were blaming Colgan for the goals, so I guess it's all
about opinions! To my mind, Reid was clearly at fault for their first, Nya was hopelessly out of position
for their second and Kozluk was questionnable for their 3rd. As for the final goal, once Werling lost out
in the challenge - where was the cover?

Realistically, we were beaten by a superior, and fitter, side - and there's still 135 points to play for!

Finally, a 'pop' at the club - talking to some Coventry fans in the Gatehouse after the game and they
were complaining that there were no beer sales in the North Stand. Mmmmm - over 2500 travelling
fans and a missed opportunity for generating some income here, imho. Have to say that practically
every other away end in this Division does serve alcohol, so why should we be different?

And no marks to Rob Knowles for the glib comments in his column in the match programme - specifically
'At least those blokes from Doncaster who won a speed boat on Bulls Eye back in the 80's finally found
a use for it!!!'. Yep, very funny Rob - making fun of others mis-fortune - I wonder if you'd done so if
it was your house that had been flooded out last month?

Ah well, odds on Tommy Wright to score on Tuesday night then??! :D

    Rob's "joke" about Bullseye

Was stolen from about 10,000 forums on the net.

Not surprised at that! Just thought it was poor taste, that's all.

Mock the afflicted and all that!

Still, a good day out at Layer Road to look forward to next week! :D

i thought it was in poor taste too

its one thing for it to be on the net but for it to be in the offiicial programme when some fans are from doncaster is a little poor really. As was the half a page taken up about is personal life again
