...and when you do you see how much they have changed but people who live with them all the time don't notice the changes as much?

That could describe Barnsley and me tonight. I haven't seen 'em play for a long long time (long story-don't go there). I see a lot of negative stuff on this site. If that is the sort of performance and effort you get then what the f**k is everyone complaining about. Still got some rough edges to sort out but Barnsley finally look like a team who want to work together. A young manager with still a lot to learn but great potential and clearly a motivator. Some reasonable skill, attacking flair and real effort for the cause. I thought the young goalkeeper looked quite commanding in the 2nd half after his one mistake. Kay made a couple of saving tackles near the end and McIndoe? down the right reminded me of Jellyfish (not!!) the way he was prepared to take on the opposition and actually beat em and get a cross in. The way some people tell it on here week in week out you would think things were the same as tney were 3 or 4 years ago. Believe me when I say they ain't - it is obvious even after seeing tonights defeat how far the club has nmoved on from the dark days.

    Spirit and ability

We have plenty of both. Such a good feeling to have a team that feels victory and defeat as much as us supporters do, and look capable of getting something out of any game, regardless of the situation.
